TGIF

I am exhausted! So ready for the weekend (even though it's going to be a busy one). Right now I'm working on some admin work for the middle school... going through grades, transcripts, and such. Pretty boring, but my friend/fellow intern and I moved our chairs into the sun and are working from our laptops. Not too bad :)

Now I am FINALLY home in my sweat pants (after a long, crazy day of 6th grade drama), with a glass of wine, sitting here watching the Royal Wedding. I guess I am a sucker for romance these days....

Happy Friday! Have a fabulous weekend!

Royal Wedding

So who is staying up late or waking up early for the Royal Wedding? Anyone? Anyone? I'm not a person who really follows pop culture, however I am kind of interested and excited to watch this coverage. I definitely WILL NOT watch it live (man I love DVR and couldn't survive without it), but save it for tomorrow evening sometime (with a glass of wine of course). I'm looking forward to seeing her dress and also reliving the London trip my Momma and I took back in 2008 (which was fabulous by the way). I think it's going to be kind of fun. PS. When I was young I used to have a little crush on Prince William :)

I'm in such a great mood today! Lovin sooo many things.

1. Lovin that I passed my last grad school final yesterday with a perfect score and this comment from my teacher, "Great job overall! You have made some significant strides since the beginning of the semester. Kudos to you! Great job with reflections, tracking the client, nonverbals, and demonstrating your understanding." So incredibly happy to be done with that class.

2. Lovin that Kevin put the sweetest comment on his facebook last night, "Best girlfriend ever, gives the best gifts ever!!! Love you babe!" All because I bought him $20 tickets for us to see his fav band (Strung Out) at a concert in June (it's also my absolute last day of interning and summer school, so let me tell you we are going to celebrate).

3. Lovin that my daddy put gas in my car yesterday because I have been commuting so much lately and gas is $4.30 here!

4. Lovin my morning coffee...mmmm yum. Could not have gotten through grad school without caffeine.

5. Lovin that it's a beautiful day today and I spent the morning drive with the sunroof and windows all open, blasting Katy Perry and Britney Spears, while all of the other drivers were looking at me thinking I'm crazy!

6. Lovin that everyday I intern at the middle school, I get to spend time with one of my best friends.

7. Lovin that I relived my college days and drank a Code Red Mountain Dew (difficult to find) with my lunch. I know terrible, but sooo good!

8. Lovin my parents for working incredibly hard on the house and my graduation party... can't believe it's so close now!

9. Lovin that I found a graduation dress! It's exactly what I wanted... but I won't share because I'm saving as a surprise.

And lastly... my SPEECHLESS number ten

10. Lovin that I got the most amazing, gorgeous, undeserving graduation gift ever from my parents. A Tiffany, diamond and white gold bangle bracelet. It is the most beautiful bracelet I have ever seen. Thank you with all of my heart. You are the best parents in the world. I really could have never asked for anything more.

Excellent Easter

I had an excellent Easter weekend and things have been going well so far this week. I seriously cannot believe how fast the time is flying by. STOP STOP STOP! It is less than 2 weeks until graduation... WHAT?!?!?!

This past weekend was Kevin's "Siegel Family Reunion" (dad's side of the fam) and I was fortunate enough to be invited to celebrate with everyone. It was a Mexican theme (for the German side of the family haha)- taco truck, Mariachi music, margaritas, Coronas, the works. I feel so thankful to be a part of his family, everyone is extremely kind, generous, and most of all FUN! We had a blast, especially playing with his 4 little cousins... I loved how wonderful he was with them. Kevin took a lot more pictures with his super duper nice camera which I will post later, but here are a few that I took:

My Love

The girls- Madeline, Beth, Me

Kevin and Damien

Siegel girlfriends

The Mariachis and their back-up singers! Cecilia and Peyton

The fam sitting around listening

Siegel Family

I had a wonderful time with them on Saturday and then again on Sunday morning to say our goodbyes. After a wild weekend, Kevin and I spent Easter watching movies and eating Chinese delivery. It was a good day. :)

As for this week... yesterday was my middle school day, which flew by because we are extremely busy prepping for open house and the wrapping up of the school year, today I'm at the high school, tonight is my last late night class of grad school ever (hooray) where I have my final demonstration (counseling in front of the class to be judged/rated by the teacher and classmates, boo), tomorrow is the middle school and meeting with a classmate to work on an assignment, Thursday is the high school and then open house at the middle school where I am presenting to everyone (AH), and Friday back to the middle school again. Let me tell you.... I am spending sooo much money on gas driving back and forth all the time! This weekend is a party with the ladies that Kevin's mom is throwing and then my Alpha Sigma Nu, honor society, initiation at LMU. WHEEEWW I'm tired just writing all this. OH and I still need to find a graduation dress AND shoes!! I told ya, time is flying by!

Happy Tuesday! XOXO

A Fabulous Four Days

I'm not even sure where to start! I feel so wonderful at the moment and I have so much to report. This is the first chance I've had to sit alone and have a little down time since Wednesday afternoon. BUT it was all good good good! I'm going to jump around about the past 4 days because first I want to give a big birthday shout- out to Kevin's mom Linda. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDA!!!!!

The birthday girl at dinner.

I just love and adore her because she is such a fun, generous, kind, and gracious woman. I am so fortunate to have a boyfriend with a FANTASTIC mother. Last night we went with some of their family to Tony's on the Pier in Redondo Beach. We drank some wine, ate a ton of delicious food, and celebrated the night away. It was a great evening.

Linda and Kevin

Kevin, Linda, and her adorable mom (Nani)

Linda and Bob- Kevin's parents

A woman after my own heart- we love our wine!

Make a wish!

We had such a memorable night and I'm thankful I was able to be a part of it. Thank you!

Another birthday shout-out I want to give is to my old co-worker Keri, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KERI! We went to a couple bars on Abbot Kinney in Venice Friday night to celebrate... good times were had there too. Can't wait to do it again soon (and yes dancing was involved).

With the birthday girl

Mary and Me (a good friend from LMU- student and employee too)

Mary and her husband Andy

With my co-worker Matt

Matt and Keri- School of Ed employees

Kevin showed up tooooo!

Then back to Thursday... one of my best friends from middle school (yes we've known each other 17 years now ah) came into town from New York and we spent the day biking, eating In-N-Out, and then that night got a good Shuffle Board game going on with Kevin and another friend. Happy I got to spend some time with you Grahamy!

Finally, today was a huge day for me. I worked REALLY REALLY hard the past 2 years in grad school and maintained a 4.0 the entire time. I qualified and was accepted into the International Honor Society in Education- Kappa Delta Pi, which only accepts the top 10% of the graduating class (you need a high GPA, a faculty recommendation and a few other little details to qualify). This afternoon was the initiation ceremony! It was a proud moment I have to say, but more than anything I was so incredibly thankful to have my parents AND my significant other in attendance; I was the only person I knew or saw who had all three there for support. I couldn't feel more grateful at the moment to have these amazing people in my life, I honestly would not have made it through grad school without my Papa, Momma, and Kevin. Thank you for coming today and for EVERYTHING you do/put up with.

Lunch before the ceremony

Love you so much

The people who get me through each day

The initiation location- Hilton at LMU

Waiting to get inducted

Saying "I do" and "I will"

Very proud

Another addition to my wall!

Now I'm just having a nice evening full of relaxation... getting ready for another busy week. Hope everyone had great weekends too! XOXO
